Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited cases in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Robertson County Criminal History, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool passes directly to the outside provider that operates it. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the server may receive basic technical information about the visit:

  • Page-view timestamps and the pages opened
  • Device type and operating system
  • The referring site, when one is supplied
  • Browser name and version
  • Time spent on a page
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on a visitor's device. They and our analytics services help combine traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can reject cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Finding and repairing technical problems
  • Operating the site and maintaining its performance
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
  • Routing a search to the selected partner service
  • Understanding which pages visitors use most

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Robertson County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Robertson County Sheriff, Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police repository, and KSP Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a third-party criminal file or consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's own privacy policy governs information entered there, including its retention and sharing rules. Review that policy before sending a query because those practices are outside our control.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the sheriff, Kentucky court portals, state agencies, legal aid, or third-party tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.

Advertising providers may also use their own systems to track activity across websites and select targeted ads.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Information may be available to these limited recipients:

  • Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal order
  • Advertising networks that serve page ads
  • Search partners processing a submitted query
  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance

How We Protect Your Data

Standard safeguards are used for the data collected. No internet system is fully secure, however, so a breach-free service cannot be guaranteed.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If a minor is believed to have provided data, contact us so it can be removed.

Your Data Rights

The Kentucky Open Records Act in KRS 61.872 and the privacy exemptions in KRS 61.878 govern public-agency records, not data held by this private site. KRS 17.580 separately governs public registry publication. As a matter of this site's privacy practices, visitors may:

  • Opt out of certain processing where that choice is available
  • Request deletion of personal data we hold
  • Ask for correction of inaccurate information
  • Request a copy of personal information maintained about them
